The Receptor BUG is essentially two helmets in one. Literally, this helmet sports two hardshells, the traditional exterior hardshell found on POC’s other wintersport helmets and an interior hardshell. POC designed the Receptor BUG this way to create an airflow ventilation system that could be completely opened up to cool you on those warm spring slope-side days or totally sealed off for warmth on those really cold deep winter days - all the while protecting your head from penetration, something traditional helmet vents don't do. Called Ventilated-Double-Shell-Anti-Penetration (VDSAP), it is this ingenious design that makes the Receptor Bug a well ventilated ski helmet that ALSO protects you from branches, gates, or other pointy objects on the hill. Incredibly, even with this double-hardshell VDSAP system, the Receptor Bug remains very lightweight. And of course, it is highly protective.
