POC VPD Padded Bicycle Shorts
These are some of the most protective soft-pad padded shorts we sell. The POC VPD Bicycle Shorts are and excellent all-mountain bike padded shorts. They come with extra durable EVA foam rubber padding for your hips/upper thigh and a padded "seat" or chamois for a comfortable ride. They also include a triangular-shaped tailbone pad made from VPD, the most advanced protective padding available on the market today.
POC has introduced their new "version 2.0" VPD material in the 2012 shorts. The new POC VPD 2.0 Padded Shorts are visually different from the 2011 version of the shorts - the newer VPD 2.0 shorts are all black. The 2011 shorts, which have the original VPD material, are black and white.

VPD…What is that?
VPD stands for Visco-elastic Polymer Dough. VPD is soft and comfortable, yet upon impact, VPD stiffens to absorb an extreme amount of energy created by such an impact. Since it is this energy from impact that ultimately causes bodily injury, the more energy your protective device shields from you, the less likely you are to suffer injury. Most protective padding is static. The POC VPD Tailbone Protector is progressive, meaning the harder the impact, the proportionately more energy from the impact POC’s VPD Tailbone Protector will absorb.
