The Giro Combyn helmet, a technological innovation from the helmet engineers at Giro. The Combyn features all new shell and liner technologies to create a helmet that isn't in-mold, isn't ABS, but is in an all new class of "soft shell" helmets. Historically, ski and snowboard helmets were either an in-mold design (where the liner was fused to the thin and lightweight outer shell) or an ABS design (where the liner was glued to a thicker outer shell after the shell was produced). Both in-mold and ABS construction have their place and do wonderful jobs. But...the Giro Combyn features a softer and more pliable outer shell that is combined with a vinyl nitride interior liner. The result is a helmet that is, well, kind of soft. It literally conforms to your head when you put it on. The Combyn is one of the easiest fitting helmets on the market. Is the Giro Combyn helmet right for you? The Combyn will likely appeal to you if you're a freestyle or park skier / boarder who bounces around a lot and demands a helmet that can take a lot if impacts and still offer you protection, but also fits nicely for all day sessions on the mountain.
