uvex calls the uvex p2us Ski / Snowboard Helmet for Women its "ultimate helmet". A close look at the p2us reveals why, a close look at the price does not. uvex manages to load up the p2us ski / snowboard helmet with features like hybrid construction, customized fit and venting, and a one-press "buckle" that makes taking the p2us on/off super easy. We're still baffled by the price, but love the uvex p2us Helmet for Ski / Snowboard. We're sure you will, too!
Most of the ski / snowboard helmets that we sell meet the popular ASTM F2040 safety standard for snow helmet protection. However, the uvex p2us Ski Helmet does not meet, or more likely, has not been tested to this standard. Instead, many Marker helmets only meet the EN CE 1077 (European) safety standard for snow sports. This makes sense, as Marker is a German company. For further information on these standards, please read our articles, EN CE Helmet Safety Standards Explained and Helmet Safety Standards Guide.
uvex is a family owned and operated German company founded by Phiipp Winter in 1926. Philipp Winter improved ventilation of safety goggles, and equipped many athletes with protective eye wear for the 1936 summer Olympics. His son, Ranier, continued to expand the company, introducing the first anti-fog goggle in 1964. In the 1970's uvex expanded it's operations across the Atlantic, and introduced the first ski goggles with a spherical, injection-molded lens and anti-fog coating. Today, uvex continues to develop innovative, high-quality personal protective equipment for cycling, snow sports, equestrian and workers across the globe.
