Scooter Safety Information

Non-powered scooter riding is a relatively new sport (in terms of government regulation speed...), so there is not a lot of hard advice on safety or protective gear.

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SCOOTER SAFETY
  • Treat scooter riding as you would riding a bicycle. That is:
    1. Always Wear a Helmet!
    2. Wear knee and elbow pads
    3. Stay off the street
    4. Ride only during daylight
    5. Kids 10 and under should be supervised by an adult
    6. Don't ride above your abilities
  • Wear a Bicycle Helmet Certified to the CPSC Bike Helmet Standards
